Venus opposite Neptune

Aight… here’s the deal. #heymom

In a perfect world, I’d have cool graphics up there. They would be equal parts of creativity, solid information, and Muse inspired visuals. I’d have spun long eloquently worded sentences from years of wit and star study.

This isn’t a perfect world and I’m about fed the fuck up with one astrological aspect specifically. At the same time, I’m learning some shit about myself which helps clear up the murky waters. I’m totally aware that this is the intended purpose of Astrology but please believe me when I tell you that VENUS OPPOSITE NEPTUNE can eat a d***.

Natal. Sucks from birth.

Transit. Don’t believe a damn word you are hearing. Just wait. You’ll see.

Synastry. HA! Hello, you helplessly drooling doormat of a human. Remember that if you whisper “this is too good to be true” to yourself before falling asleep… it is. Sometimes fantasies do come true, but not today, sweet pea.

Side note… today’s celestial dance between MERCURY (communication) and MARS (aggression) OPPOSITE PLUTO (where we tear it all down to start fresh) is all over this post. I’m not always this angry at things I can not control. Usually, there is a little more Zen to my perceptions, but this aspect is not only present in my natal chart… Venus is transiting my natal Venus!!! Usually a time of great love and blah blah blah, except in my case it’s more like a double dose of…

“Unless you get really real and kinda assholish with yourself about what’s happening… it’s gunna hurt when it all comes crashing down. Also, it was there all along and you’ve just been too high on endorphins and hope to see it. Again…”

Because that’s how Neptune works. It IS the rose-colored glasses. It IS the good advice you ignore from your own gut and the lips of your friends and family. Not because of naivety – you can’t see something happen 239,042,093 times and still call it being naïve – no this is worse, it’s sheer devotion. Neptune is where we learn compassion and sacrifice for others, often at the price of learning that we haven’t lied to ourselves but that we’ve taken plenty of it from those around us. It’s not sheer devotion, it’s blind devotion. The easiest kind to take advantage of.

Currently, I believe that particular aspect is the absolute worst. W-O-R-ST.

I’ll explain. Venus is not just love, it’s money too. It’s all luxury. Look at the signs it rules. Libra and Taurus both drip with the finer tastes in life in some way or another. What is carnally drenched love if it isn’t luxuriousness on high? There is nothing finer. SO Venus is how you give and receive love, but not how you go after it, that’s Mars.

Basically, my heart has perpetual rose-colored glasses. I see potential and excuse hard evidence the way a tenderly expectant child or small puppy would. Literal martyr in the name of love. So gross. People, you should see the look of shock and awe that I have perfected for when I’m left high and dry… again. It’s award-winning, mainly because that shit is always genuine.

Speaking of award-winning performances, one of the natural remedies for this POS aspect in your natal chart takes its cues from what I happen to believe is the best part of all things Neptunian (it’s a word, Google it). The stage. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not excusing the entire ocean and all its cathartic powers. I’m simply stating that for someone with this aspect in their natal chart there is something about being on stage that repairs and makes whole what is not. I dare say if we polled theatrical stages from high schools to strip clubs we’d find this aspect in abundance. I personally believe that it has something to do with the being able to tap into the illusionary energy of Neptune and then being revered for it. It’s an honest exchange of visual stimulation and appreciation. No one is left feeling like they are owed anything.

Shout out to anyone backstage anywhere. We see you mending those wounds while learning to be ok with having the only oxygen mask on the plane. You matter. Most.

Remember, martyrs aren’t appreciated for being martyrs until after they are dead.
