Lilith
Asteroid Lilith #1181 – Dark Moon Lilith #h58 – Black Moon Lilith #h13True #h12Mean

Never have I ever… seen a luminary with as many versions, names, symbols and distinctive energies as I have when looking at Lilith. I’m here to try to help simplify all of the information out there. There are 3, 4, 3.5(?) different variations of Lilith. Each one is a significantly more progressed stage of the same lesson/story.

Before delving into the lessons Lilith imparts through our charts, it’s essential to understand her mythological origins. Tracing back to Mesopotamian and Judaic lore, Lilith is portrayed as Adam’s initial wife in the Garden of Eden. While Eve was created from Adam’s rib, Lilith was formed beside him from the earth, signifying her equality rather than subordination to Adam. This likely unsettled Adam, who, like any individual, harbored desires for dominance. Lilith demanded recognition of her needs, particularly regarding sexual autonomy, challenging Adam’s perception of her role solely for procreation. Instead, Lilith asserted her right to be regarded as Adam’s equal, leading to the conflict of all conflicts.

When she demanded to be treated as an equal, Adam complained to their Father, who reiterated his instructions for them to go forth and multiply. Surely, if he gave them life and an entire planet to inhabit, they could figure out how to treat each other with respect… right? Wrong. Adam doubled down and told her that she either submits to his wishes or she would suffer at his hands. Lilith found a new emotion that day, rage. They fought, and in a moment, she realized that she was afraid. Not just afraid that he might hurt her in that moment for her defiance, but more so afraid that no matter what she said, he would never respect her. She understood that, regardless of her actions, Adam would perpetually view her as a possession rather than an equal. Confronted with this stark reality, Lilith made a decision—to abandon paradise and face exile rather than endure indignity and a life devoid of fulfillment. This pivotal moment marked the birth of the energy of asteroid Lilith, embodying defiance against oppression and a steadfast commitment to personal autonomy and authenticity.

Asteroid Lilith #1181 marks the inception of the journey. It signifies the departure from the Garden of Eden, and the house and sign placements indicate where the ensuing battle will unfold—a battle that may leave us deeply wounded but ultimately liberated. This is the wound that propels us to rise from our knees, where we choose to relinquish everything rather than endure another moment under a power imbalance. It’s often linked to a pivotal fight-or-flight moment, symbolizing the transition from submission to self-determination.

Lilith roamed the earth freely, defying expectations and embracing her sexuality without inhibition. Settling in a cave in the Red Sea, she bore demon offspring by the hundreds, drawing the attention of heavenly Angels. Adam, feeling lonely and blaming Lilith for the absence of children in the garden, prompted the Angels to retrieve her. They found her amidst a scene of carnal revelry, surrounded by demonic progeny and lovers, still very much unafraid.

“You must return to Adam,” they insisted.

“Will I be respected and regarded as an equal? Will my needs matter?” Lilith countered with a conversation that most of us know all too well.

“Don’t be ridiculous! Your duty is to populate the earth,” they replied dismissively.

Lilith adamantly refused to comply. The Angels relayed her defiance to the Almighty, who decreed that her individual needs could not outweigh her responsibilities. Thus began the era of Dark Moon Lilith or Waldemath Moon. The archangels warned Lilith that if she did not return to Eden to fulfill her duty, she would be compelled to sacrifice 100 of her own demon children each morning. Despite the grave consequence, Lilith remained resolute, choosing freedom over subservience, unwilling to endure disrespect and exploitation again.

Lilith sends them away, empty-handed. “Tell your Daddy that if that’s the price he is going to force me to pay to be respected, then I will pay it. Everyone will know what it costs me, and who requires it of me.”

The Angels return to report back, and God decides that it would be best to form a new wife for Adam, one that will be subservient and willing to do her duty. He forms her from Adam’s own rib, and thus the story goes…

Meanwhile, back in the Red Sea, we find Lilith. Isolated, alone, and screaming her pain into every rising sun. Every morning as the day breaks, Lilith does too. She kisses her darling demon children and then tears them apart herself, with her own hands. She wails at the heavens as she does it, wanting her father in heaven and everyone in-between to bear witness to the price she is forced to pay for insisting that she be considered…and then she goes about her day…doing whatever the f she wants.

#h58 Waldemath Moon or Dark Moon Lilith signifies the space where we defiantly embrace our inner demons, regardless of gender. It’s where men embody their ruthless nature, while women dance freely on stage in exchange for money. Here, individuals feel liberated but perpetually alone, isolated, and fractured. It’s in this realm that Lilith earns her reputation as a wild, demonic “night creature,” associated with curses on pregnancies and even infant mortality due to her mythological narrative.

Time goes on, as it does and Lilith settles into her life and routine. It’s bloody, dark, painful and beautifully unrestrained. Anyone who has faced their inner demons knows that it is rarely an outside force that brings us out of it, but more likely that we simply grow tired our own bullshit and excuses. Yes, we are free to do as we please, middle fingers in the air, but we are undoubtedly alone. We push anyone of value away whether it be intentionally to protect them from our short comings and carnage, or because the way we are living is detrimental and distasteful to people who want to live their lives in the sun. One day we look up and we’re bored with it. We’ve slept with everyone, done all the drugs and the drained all the bottles. The oscillation simple becomes redundant and something inside of us tells us that we are ready for more. We’ve accepted our demons and we’ve grown tired of the pain.

Having found peace, this is where Lilith reemerges whole. She’s no longer afraid of being dominated or used. She knows exactly how powerful she is and while she no longer has the desire to prove it to anyone but herself she will not hesitate to call on that power if the need arises.

Wild, radical, femininity. THIS is the placement astro.com asteroids chart type, which I recommend.

Their parents (usually the mother) will either be overbearing or neglectful, but not anything in between. Enmeshment is usually a theme and emotional independence is a foreign concept. This pattern is usually carried over into their relationship with their own children (unless it presents as fertility issues, which it is known to do) until they are forced to face their shadow in the dark. Eventually all secrets come out and when these people are forced to stand in the light with theirs and when the smoke clears we are left with an incredibly powerful human. They welcome change and in fact become agents of it, for the greater good.
